The Wee Zee
The Wee Zee is all things cute, dreamy and magical. This mini book is a 8 page quiet book of size 6*6 inches, made of 100% cotton fabric and European certified felt by passionate loving hands.
Everything from a baby zebra to an apple car, colourful cats and a blue mouse, candy ,a sunflower and baby lamb makes this quiet book so lovable and one of a kind!!
The cover page has the face of a baby zebra on a snap button, whose neck forms an elastic belt closure for the book that is connected to the body of the zebra on the back page.
Magnetic snap button is a great fine motor exercise and encourages hand eye coordination.
The elastic neck of the zebra enforces cause and effect, every time it is pulled and released.
Page 1 has an apple car. Time for a dreamy ride! The wheels of the car are on velcro hook and loop and can be detached and reattached. To bring about the personalisation element in the book, we have added a photo slot insert in the apple car where you can place the child's photo or a little something you want for the child.
Page 2 - Seven even colourful cats fill the page, three of which can be detached and reattached.
Approach this page in several ways:
1) Velcro hook and loop activity for fine motor exercise
2) Color identification - where's the orange cat? How about the blue cat?
3) Color vocabulary - Can you tell me what color cat this is ?
4) Size and vocabulary - Which is the 'tall' cat ? Which is the shortest cat?
5) Concepts - Can you point to the cat that is on the left side of the green cat?
6) Free play and Pretend Play - Hey who's that? A naughty cat! Hey who's that? An angry cat!
Page 3 - If there are cats, there must be a mouse, no? Play peek-a-boo with the blue mouse! His bow is a cheese - learn to button and unbutton - which is a great fine motor practice.
Concepts like left and right, close and open and be emphasised here.
Page 4 is a candy maze color matching activity. Move the buttons around to the right color patch.
Introduce basic match and counting.
1) Can you move two buttons to color green? Can you move three buttons to color pink?
2) Greater than, lesser than and equal to concept.
Page 5 - The oh-so-beautiful sunflower mirror on the fifth page will make you gush. Allowing some sensorial and fun time, this page aims at allowing the child to experience mirror play thus enhancing visual senses, learning and development.
Page 6 - The sleepy baby lamb floating around in a cloud is a finger puppet. Have you seen a child pop on the finger puppets on their fingers and move? This is a great finger movement activity. Throw in some pretend and fun play around to make it enjoyable. The zipper on the cloud can be used to practice zipping skills. If you are giving this book as a gift to the child, place a little something as a surprise inside the zipper cloud - a handwritten note, a candy, a memory. Children love to find things in small unexpected corners. This could be a daily ritual too between you and your child and a great family bonding activity.
The back page has the body of the zebra sewn on it with legs that can be moved :) Bring the zebras face closer to the back page to see the zebra in total!
